Innovation, collaboration, and sustainability at the heart of the BeSoGreat workshop

On July 10, an event took place in Vicenza that perfectly exemplifies how collaboration can accelerate the transition toward a more sustainable future. Crossing and Nuova Deroma organized the workshop for the Interreg Italy-Austria BeSoGreat project, co-funded by the European Union, titled “From spent grains to bioplastics: a path toward sustainability,” which achieved great success.

The event brought together companies, clusters, universities, and institutional partners, all united by a common goal: to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for the region and beyond.

Thanks to contributions from organizations such as SMACT and Fondazione San Nicolò, the workshop became a rich moment of discussion and exchange, demonstrating how essential cross-disciplinary collaboration is for reaching new milestones.

The networking sessions were particularly appreciated, allowing participants to share experiences, start new collaborations, and reflect together on how to make the entire production cycle more circular and sustainable — in this case, starting from spent grains and moving toward bioplastic production.

We believe that events like this are the driving force behind shared innovation and proof that, by joining forces, it is truly possible to build a greener and more responsible future.

A big thank you to all participants for their enthusiasm and valuable contributions! The journey toward a more sustainable future continues, and we can’t wait to share the next steps together.
